Today’s Assignment: Breathe

Is today one of those days?

One of those days when you look at the clock and cringe at the time?

One of those days when the pain and pressure of things not getting done is getting to you?

One of those days when little tasks pile up and you can feel the anxiety creeping up out of your heart?

One of those days when you wish someone would call or text just to check in on you so you could unload some of your frustration?

Let me tell you something…

it’s OK.

It’s OK that you’re still in your pajamas.

It’s OK that you don’t have dinner planned.

It’s OK that you’re going to have to miss an engagement tonight.

Just breathe.

Smile at your children and wipe their runny noses.

Plan on pancakes for dinner (to go with the pajamas theme).

Send a love text to your spouse (it’s better to give than receive).

Most importantly, close your eyes for 10 seconds and force your mind to stop the barrage. And listen…listen to the creator of universes and you.

The one who said that when you lean into Him–all your mishaps and hangups included–He will hold onto you (Matthew 11:28-30).
